The Alberta Standards Of Practice for Dental Technology

The Alberta Standard for Dental Technologists has been developed and accepted within Alberta as the mandatory standard for dental laboratories and is presently under consideration by many other Canadian provinces. The standard satisfies the requirements of both Health Canada and the FDA and is considered to be the definitive standard for dental laboratories.

The contents take account of current health and safety legislation within Canada and the USA with particular emphasis on the health and safety of patients /technicians and environmental issues.

Although the standard is based upon the tried and proven concepts of ISO9000 and ISO13485 it concentrates on issues specific to the dental laboratory industry. In addition to the specific requirements of Health Canada and the FDA it provides the dental laboratory with the major benefits associated with the ISO standards.
