In order to comply with the US Food and Drug Administrations’ Good Manufacturing Processes, I looked to a number of consulting agencies. Most recommended a full blown ISO program which I found to be too intrusive, expensive and not practical for our business.  Since each order received by the dental laboratory is essentially a prototype, it is difficult, if not impossible to try and manage the work under those constraints.

The Dental Appliance Manufacturers Audit Scheme (DAMAS) was the perfect fit for us, in terms of flexibility, ease of implementation and value for the dollar. In our first six months we were discovering weaknesses in our equipment maintenance program and customer feedback areas, and made changes that gave us measurable results. The team at Lawrence-Hall Consultants was very helpful in guiding us through the set up process and has been extremely helpful in making sure we stay abreast of the latest information and changes in the GMP program.
